It was HUGE. There is no way the pictures capture the market as a total. It was market one could get lost in. Cassidy who has a fascination with Converse was finding Converse sneakers right and left and had to stop to inspect them all.
There was street food galore. There were musicians, there was clothing that could cloth a media sized army, but most of it not for American sized frames, but there was plenty to see and plenty to enjoy.
There were so many interesting odds and ends from leather bound notebooks, to Budddhas and Ganesh's statues, handbags, ripped CDs and DVDs as it seem piracy isn't a concern. Lots of food options which is where I was floored when we went by Viva 8.
Paella was being cooked up in this very large pans, and we were drooling. There was a line to get a plate, as they were selling tickets to get your plates worth. We circled around to get the next batch and it was great to watch.
They cooked the paella in one huge pan, and the cooking was a flamboyant affair by the chef tossing things in, salt was being tossed right and left, for good luck and for fun. Green beans were tossed into the pan as well as to spectators, and it was theater of the tastiest kind.
After its cooked its transferred to the serving pan where we get our yummy grub from after waiting, somewhat patently in line.
Enjoy our little visit to the market in Bangkok.
