The monsoon wasn't as wet as it usually is, and we have had a water shortage and its been so very dry. We also have had lightening, which starts fires. And corrupt people who start fires as well. Since its a protected forest area, and people want to buy wood, there are people who start brush fires and burn enough of the trees so they have to be fell. Then they sell the wood. Sometimes those fires get out of control.
Our valley was filled with smoke for weeks. Some of the fires came a little close for comfort. We are glad to say it seems that is all in the past. We have had some rain, monsoon should be here in a couple of weeks and there will be no chance for fires.
The monsoon predictions is to have a close to average monsoon which hasn't happened in the past two years, so fingers crossed!
Cassidy and I went up the back way a couple of times, but she never got to see them. I am not sure where the pigs move to when not around, but finally I was able to capture some of the pink pigginess. I wish I had my camera the first time because they were so small, and so clean and super pink!
I didn't get the best pictures because I was not getting off my bike incase Momma or Daddy pig too offense to the picture taking. They have a lot of human contact, but I wasn't taking any chances.
